While reading scriptures I observed the apparent tendency to think from a cliché perspective. For example we sing the “I will bless the Lord at all times” song but do we think deeply regarding the meaning? It dawned on me after reading Psalms 34:1 that singing this may sometimes become a haphazard approach to the essence of what it means to worship Yahweh. Are we really worshipping in spirit and in truth? It becomes more truth giving when we deliberately make the words personal and meaningful to us. This understanding became more evident upon reading the rest of Psalms 34.
When examined closely the words provided clarity that regardless of the situations in life the Most High was to be blessed and praised continuously. Whether the time is good or bad. Whether the season was full of heat or starkly cold, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My lips shall state words that align with what is praiseworthy.
I sought after Him and He delivered me. I will taste and see that Yahweh is good. The attribution of my blessed state is because I trust in Him with every aspect of my life. These are deliberate statements of praise of His goodness from my personal experience. I know of the Almighty Elohim in this way.
These are only some examples of how to think deliberately through things that have been sort of a second thought. This perspective even applies to how we approach actions and behaviors. Do we ask ourselves whether an action supports or is aligned with the purpose and objectives to be completed? Many of us do not unless we are specifically working on a project that requires it and then there are others who may be helping that effort along.
Our intention should supersede whatever the situation before us. Having the end goal in mind reminds us to strive to achieve purpose. With the awareness to be deliberate and not go about life based on happenstance we can affect change, improvement, momentum, and ultimately progress. We can attain our defined outcomes.
