Have you ever wondered how to strengthen your faith? Do you think of your faith as if it’s muscle? The more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes.
A methodology commonly used to obtain uncommon results is the use of affirmations along with prayer. In this case scriptures provided in the post on expanding your faith capacity have been turned into affirmations and targeted prayers. Speaking these out loud is an effective way of bridging the gap between reading the Word and hearing and living it.
Let’s again recall the scripture before each affirmation. A prayer is provided near the close. Because faith comes and is strengthened by continual hearing of the Word of God it is important to repetitively speak the Word of God.
Endeavoring to Hear the Word of God
Romans 10:17 KJV So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Affirm: My ears are open to the voice of God. As I read and listen to His Word today, my faith is naturally increasing. I am not struggling for faith; it is growing in me by the power of the message of Christ.
Strengthening Conviction and Confidence
Hebrews 11:1 AMP Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
Affirm: Faith is my ‘title deed.’ Even if I cannot see the answer yet, I have the inner conviction that what God has promised is a reality. I trust His truth over my feelings.
Overcoming Obstacles
Matthew 17:20 KJV And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Affirm: I have the measure of faith necessary for my life. Even if my faith feels small like a mustard seed, it is powerful enough to move the mountains in my life. Nothing is impossible for me because I am aligned with God’s will.
Spiritual Growth and Prayer
Jude 1:20 KJV But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Affirm: I am not stagnant. I am building myself up like a high edifice, rising higher and higher as I pray and trust in the Holy Spirit.
Daily Focus
Hebrews 12:2 KJV Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Affirm: I am looking away from all distractions. My eyes are fixed on Jesus Christ. He started this journey in me, and He is the one who will bring my faith to full maturity.
Prayer
Almighty God, I desire to hunger for Your Word and ask that You grant me that desire. As I hear Your word, let it take deep root in my heart so that my faith becomes an unshakable foundation for everything I do. In the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You that my hope is not wishful thinking, but a divine guarantee. When my senses tell me one thing, help me to lean into the ‘evidence’ of Your Spirit and Your promises. Lord, I bring the ‘mountains’ in my life before You today [name a specific challenge]. I refuse to be intimidated by their size. I speak to them in faith, knowing that You are the one who makes a way where there is no way. May the Holy Spirit lead me as I pray. Help me to build a life that is strong and focused as I pray in the Holy Spirit. Strengthen my ‘inner man’ today so that I can handle whatever comes my way with grace and confidence. Jesus, I choose to look at You instead of my problems. You are the Author of my faith. When I feel weary, remind me that You are the one perfecting me and finishing the good work You started. And it is so, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
Transformation
Reflect: Choose one of these scriptures and affirmations to repeat and meditate on throughout the day. Often, focusing on a single truth for 24 hours is more effective for strengthening faith than trying to memorize many at once.
Renew: Become effective at institutionalizing faith in your everyday life by corresponding your actions to the scriptures.
