Trusting and being confident in Jesus Christ is one thing, but taking steps according to trust and confidence in Him is another. Activating the attitude of faith in life on a daily basis is necessary to get results. James 2:26 KJV states “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” It is the same as saying doing nothing gets nothing or input equals output.
The plan captured in this post gives a method of putting faith in action. The design is to grow from the “roots” of faith to the “fruits” of faith. Take five days and implement a sequence of objectives for each day including the core scriptural reading, the motivational focus, and the specific action to implement.
Objective: Day of Power (The Mustard Seed)
Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 11:22-24
Focus: It is not the size of faith that matters, but the object of faith (God). A small amount of genuine trust in the Great El Elyon (Most High God) and even speaking His name, El Shaddai (God Almighty), is more impactive than the mountains that need moving.
Action: Identify one “mountain” (i.e., problem, obstacle, habit). Verbally speak that the mountain be removed and that El Elyon, El Shaddai is greater than the mountain. Mark 11:23.
Objective: Day of Development (Building Up)
Jude 1:17-25, James 2:14-26
Focus: Faith is like a muscle; it builds up when exercising it through prayer and corresponding actions.
Action: Pray “in the Spirit” (from your heart or in your prayer language) for 15 minutes today. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your “inner man.”
Objective: Day of Foundation (Hearing)
Romans 10, Galatians 3:2-5
Focus: Faith is a response to hearing God’s voice rather than something “manufactured” through willpower.
Action: Spend 10 minutes listening to an audio Bible or a faith-filled sermon from your church or assembly. Focus on receiving the word rather than trying to “force” it.
Objective: Day of Defining (Seeing the Unseen)
Hebrews 11, 2 Corinthians 5:7
Focus: Faith is the “title deed” to things unseen. It is the spiritual eyes that see God’s reality as more real than circumstances.
Action: Write down one thing you are praying for. Next to it, write the specific promise from the Bible that guarantees it. That verse is the “title deed.”
Objective: Day of Finishing (Looking unto Jesus)
Hebrews 12:1-3, Philippians 1:6
Focus: Jesus is the Author (the one who started it) and the Finisher (the one who completes it) of our faith so that we do not have to carry the burden of “fixing” faith on our own.
Action: Take a “distraction fast” for one hour today. Turn off the phone and simply thank Jesus Christ for sustaining your faith.
Transformation
Reflect: Think on the good times and testimonies you have experienced with putting your faith to action. What steps did you take to commit to implementing the word of God in your life?
Renew: What will you commit your faith to doing for your future so that you will continue reaching the goal that you want to achieve?
